Apple will upload a press-release today to announce a special, Red edition of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The information has been confirmed by the prepaid wireless carrier in the US – Virgin Mobile. The documents don’t mention such a special edition of the iPhone X, but there are some rumors pointing to a possible iPhone X in golden red.

It looks like the the RED iPhone 8 / 8 Plus will be available for purchase from April, as Apple wants to boost the sales of the smartphone line in the Spring. The company launched PRODUCT RED editions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in 2017. On the photo above, you can see how the new models may look like, if the bezels are black instead of white.

Virgin Mobile and other carriers should be selling the refreshed color version at the same price as the current colors. Apple hopes to instigate interest for those who are looking for an iPhone, but want more unconventional look and a rare color. A new red AirPower charging mat should launch along with the RED iPhones.
