Apple announces the third-generation of Beats Studio.
New over-ear headphones has been announced. Priced at $349, the over-ear version of the wireless Beats Solo 3 will be using the new W1 chip, resulting in better connectivity and pairing with iPhone, along with improved battery life and better noise cancellation.
Beats Studio 3 will pair automatically to Apple’s devices, offering up to 40 hours battery life – quite comparable to Bose Qc35.
Another improvement in the Studio 3 headphones is the adaptive noise cancelling relying on two microphones detecting ambient sound. Even though the battery life drops significantly once the noise cancellation is turned on, the users can expect up to 22 hours of continuous playback with adaptive noise cancelling. The headphones automatically adjust the intensity depending on the surrounding noise.
In terms of design, the Studio 3 looks similar to the 2nd generation, but Apple has improved the internals and used new ear cushions that should be more comfortable for your ears.
The company has not announced new wired versions of the Studio headphones. However, you can use a 3.5mm headphone jack with the new wireless Studios and disable the Bluetooth connection.
Beats Studio 3 will be offered in six colors, with sales starting in October.
