New York City, October 30: New iPad and Macs incoming.
Apple has today sent out media invites for a big hardware event at the end of this month. The press conference, under the headline “There’s more in the making”, will be held in New York on October 30.
The company is expected to unveil new iPad Pro models with improved design and specs, and a refreshed MacBook line.
iPad Pro will still be using LCD panels, rather than OLED, but the tablet will adopt an iPhone X-like design without a Home Button. There won’t be a display cutout, however, as the TrueDepth sensors for FaceID will be integrated into the top bezel. Other possible changes include the USB-C port instead of the Lightning port, and ditching the headphone jack.
At the same time, Apple’s upcoming MacBooks may include a new 12-inch version, and a low-cost model under the ‘Air’ brand. It’s also expected the new Mac Mini whose hardware refresh is long overdue.
Apple’s keynote starts at 10.00 am New York time. It will be broadcasted on Apple TV and live on the company’s website.
