Apple to release an upgraded iPhone SE in early 2018.
A month ago, we reported a wild rumor about Apple planning a second-generation of its 4-inch iPhone SE. According to a new report from Focus Taiwan, Wistron, the company selected to produce the next-generation small iPhone, will expand its production base in India. Wistron will start manufacturing the 4-inch iPhone SE 2018 Edition in late 2018, but the phone itself will not launch before the end of this year.
As far as the possible specs of iPhone SE 2, the device will remain a 4-inch model, although its specs will be improved. However, it’s likely that Apple will again position the SE model as a cheaper alternative to the main like – in this case the upcoming iPhone 7S. Some sources believe that the phone will be based on the A10 chip, and it may have much thinner bezels. It may be launched in two versions – a 32GB and a 128GB variant.
Apple will launch in September 2017 three new phones. iPhone 7S and 7S Plus will have 4.7 and 5.5-inch screens, respectively. But there will be an iPhone with an even bigger screen. The 10th anniversary model may go beyond 5.5 inches (to up to 5.8 inches) thanks to its new design without bezels.
Regardless of the confirmation from a secondary source, you should remain a bit skeptical about the existence of a new iPhone SE. We will let you know as soon as we found some more evidence.
Are you planning to buy some of the upcoming iPhones this Fall?
