iOS 11 officially announced with many new features and improvements

Powerful new features coming to iPhone and iPad.

Apple announced during its developer conference the new version of iOS – version 11. Apple claims that this is the biggest software release ever for iPad and iPhones, and there is some truth in these words. IOS 11 delivers many new features, especially to iPads, such as improved multitasking and the ability to snap apps to display them. Apple Pencil has been deeply integrated into iOS11 with support for inline drawing and instant Notes accessible from the Lock Screen.

Apple finally created a ‘Files app’ for iOS, allowing users to access their folders and files, just like on Android and Windows.

This update makes Siri smarter and even more natural. She can now translate words and phrases, offers suggestions, and more.

iPhones supporting iOS 11 will get a smarter camera app with portrait photos with OIS. Apple makes the Live Photos more impressive, while a feature called Long Exposure would allow you to play with the light and capture any movement. Moreover, there is a new file format for images, reducing the size of each photo taken with iPhone 7 or newer.

Another new feature is ‘Do Not Disturb’. This is not a revolutionary – it’s available for Windows phones for years, but it’s a welcome addition to the iOS mobile platform.

Furthermore, iOS 11 includes many other small changes here and there, such as redesigned App Store, more customizable Control Center, indoor maps for major locations, one-handed keyboard, and more.

Apple released iOS 11 to developers, while the public beta version will be available later this month.

iOS 11 will be available this fall as a free software update for iPhone 5s and later, all iPad Air and iPad Pro models, iPad 5th generation, iPad mini 2 and later and iPod touch 6th generation
