Apple may refresh the color of iPhone 7 line in 2017.
iPhone 7 / 7 Plus in glossy ‘Jet Black’ has been a success since the release of the new models in September, so Apple may be considering to introduce yet another unusual color in 2017. Sources close to the Japanese blog Mac Otakara has revealed that a version of the iPhone 7 in glossy white could be released in a few months, to stimulate the demand in the first half of the year.
Given the highly unlikely hardware refresh of the iPhone SE in the first half of 2017, Apple may come up with an alternative variant to boost the iPhone sales, by offering a new color version. Similar to the Jet Black version, the possible white iPhone may come with a glossy finish that is less resistant to scratches.
If Apple really announces a white iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, this would be the first ever iPhone coming in a new color months after the original announcement of the model.
The Japanese blog has first published information about the missing 3.5 headphone jack and the Jet Black version for iPhone 7, so their sources are considered as reliable. However, Apple’s plans may change in the coming months, and a ”Jet White” iPhone may never see daylight.
