Apple working to fix the crackling noise during phone calls with iPhone 8

The company acknowledged a software bug, fix coming soon.

Apple’s new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus were released last week, but some users reported annoying crackling sounds during phone calls from the device’s earpiece.

Fortunately, the issue should be fixed soon. According to Apple, the small number of devices that have been affected can expect a software update for iOS to eliminate the intermittent in-call static and noise. The Verge has published a statement from Apple:

We are aware of the issue which is affecting customers in a small number of cases,” an Apple spokesperson said. “Our team is at work on a fix, which will be included in an upcoming software release.”

The company already released its first global update for iOS 11. Although version 11.0.1 fixes some other problems and improves the performance, it doesn’t eliminate the crackling sounds during phone calls with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

Anyway, we should expect another iOS update in the coming days to fix the issues with the earpiece.
